Tips for Applying for School Funding
General Tips
- Start gathering interest now!
-
The sooner you make folks aware about the Conference, the sooner they can prioritize it on their personal calendars.
-
If you can gather 15 or more people for your delegation, each person’s registration will be discounted, so your school may be more willing to fund a lower price for more people.
-
Also, the sooner you have a finalized list of people who would need funding for registration, the sooner you can approach your school or other funding sources with a budget and plan.
-
Talk about it at student org meetings, create an interest form, share Conference materials on social media (our Instagram is @ecaasuyale).
-
Create an itemized budget. This will make it easier when you ask for funding if you can show exactly what the money will be going towards.
-
Remember to factor in registration, transportation, food, and lodging costs. More details on what meals are covered by the conference can be found in FAQs.
-
Tell your personal story about why ECAASU and ECAASU Conference matter to you!
-
Think about how you can reach Asian American and/or Pasifika students who don’t normally participate in student group events.
-
Reach out beyond the listerv – is there a campus newsletter?
-
Some way to advertise Conference to the entire campus?
-
